Leadership and Change

This globally recognised qualification is about leadership and management of change. It covers both planning for change and devising strategies and approaches to implement change and to lead others through it. It enables candidates to look at a number of techniques for planning and implementing change and at different approaches and techniques to management and leadership.

This course will be beneficial to managers, especially those in a team leading role, with responsibility for leading or managing change. It is also beneficial to middle managers with line management responsibilities or a change facilitator, or those who expect to take up such responsibilities in the near future.

The practical leadership skills that you gain through this course are applicable across ALL SECTORS. However, the following sectors are ESPECIALLY significant: Healthcare, Nursing, Management, Manufacturing/Production, Charity/Voluntary, Retail, Financial, and Research.

This Leadership and Change course will equip you with the practical skills and knowledge to:

• plan for change and develop approaches and strategies to lead others through a period of change
• develop skills and techniques in leadership and team building
• tackle change in a positive manner and avoid the pitfalls which can derail change programmes — even well intentioned ones
• analyse different approaches to leadership and to think about how you could apply these to your own leadership approach – in particular, you can relate it to techniques of team building and consider how you can use these to develop your effectiveness as a team leader.

On successful completion, you will receive a Nationally-Recognised certificate titled “Professional Development Award in Leadership and Change”. This award is jointly certificated by CMI (Chartered Management Institute) and SQA (Scottish Qualifications Authority).
