Thoughtful leadership First knowing and controlling yourself...
A three day residential experience that gives participants the chance to practice their leadership skills in different scenarios. The interactive programme allows people to lead on multiple occasions as well as observe others leading. Whilst several leadership definitions and propositions are explored, the programme mostly develops Goffee and Jones’ quote that: “Good leadership rests with the leaders being themselves more often and with skill.” The programme structure provides a considerable amount of leadership exposure including day and evening activities, reflection, central presentations exploring and adding to the learning being gained, keynote speakers and several opportunities to develop coaching skills using specific personal work related matters.
“Having attended many leadership and management workshops in other organisations over the years, this was certainly the best paced three days of learning I have experienced. The mix of ‘room’ based activities, conversations and laughter was interspersed with ‘fresh air’ team events that were testing, enlightening and good fun!” John Hurst, Deputy Lottery Manager
“If you want to learn more about yourself, how you deal with situations at work and your current method of leadership style, then go on this course. It was engaging, challenging, insightful and beneficial to my career. I would highly recommend it.” Hannah Poulton, Clinical Lead Physiotherapist
“As someone who has been in a leadership role for 30 years, I was unsure what new information could be gained. I was pleasantly surprised to find some of the skills I used were reaffirmed, and new methods and skills were introduced. Thoroughly enjoyable course, which made me look at some things differently.” David Forbes, Catering Manager
The leadership programme and training team is overseen by John Knight, Chief Executive of LOROS.
