  • Identify the veins associated with cannulation

  • Patient status that may affect undertaking the procedure
  • Adverse reactions to the procedure
  • Understand of how to deal with sharps injuries
  • Correct technique for hand hygiene
  • Principles of aseptic non-touch techniques
  • Understanding of universal precautions associated with cannulisation
  • Professional accountability and implications to practice

Learning Outcomes

On completion delegates will be able to demonstrate much improved awareness of cannulation and the correct technique.

Duration

This course lasts approximately 6 hours and includes venepuncture training.

Certification

Delegates will receive a certificate of attendance valid for a period of 1 year.

Competency must be demonstrated within 6 months of attending this training course, we are able to provide a competency sign off service if required – please enquire today for more information.
