Delivery Method: Face-to-face Our complex care training meets the ever changing needs of the
healthcare industry. We are now seeing more and more adults and
children, who just a few years ago would have been cared for in a
hospital, are now receiving their care in the own homes. This shift of
responsibility has led to and increase in demand for staff trained in
complex care, whether they are support workers, PA’s or nurses.
Caring for Care have developed a series of programs and courses
around complex care training which can be tailored to the indivduals
clients exact needs.
We are already working with a number of clients delivering these packages which include:

- Education and School Authorities
- Insurance Companies and Solicitors
- Case Management Providers
- Individual Employers
- Personal Health Budget (PHB) Brokers
Our team of highly trained and competent nurse trainers are available
across the UK to deliver these bespoke training packages at a time and
date which suits the individuals needs. We are also able to provide
follow up competency observations, assessment and sign off to further
reinforce and ensure the quality of care remains high. Certain packages
may also require clinical oversight, which location dependant, we are
also able to faciliate
A few examples of the types of courses we are able to offer are

Basic Observation Training
This course will teach the skills to take clinical observations,
covers pulse, blood pressure, respiration rate, oxygen saturation,
urinalysis, axillary, oral and tympanic temperatures, blood sugar levels
and infection control. The course lasts 6 hours and is suitable for all
levels of care staff. -
Blood Glucose Monitoring Training
This course will teach the difference between blood sugar and glucose
levels. Understand the importance of ensuring glucose levels are
monitored and controlled. The course is suitable for all levels of care
staff and lasts approximately 3 hours. -
Catheter Care Training
This 3 hour course will teach staff how to safely and effectively
care for an individual with a catheter. The course will cover al
theoretical knowledge required as well as a practical session. For the

Epilepsy Medication Training
This course will teach delegates about the common types of epilepsy,
the causes and various triggers. It will teach staff what to do in the
case of a seizure and how to support the individual through one, the
course also covers Buccal Midazolam administration. -
PEG Feed Training
This course will teach delegates the theoretical and practical skills
to safely administer feed and medication to individual via a PEG. The
course will cover the various types of methods and includes a practical
session using one of our demonstration machines. -
Stoma Care Training
This course will teach delegates how to care for an individual with a
stoma. The course will cover anatomy and physiology, infection control,
indications and complication, record keeping and privacy and dignity. -
Suction & Oxygen Training
This course will teach delegates the theoretical and practical skills
to safely and effectively suction a patient. The course will cover
complications of suctioning, monitoring a patient, where to suction and
includes a practical session. -
Tracheostomy Care Training
This course will teach delegates how to care for an individual with a
tracheostomy. The course will cover the reason for tracheostomy, how to
care for the site, anatomy and physiology, suctioning and changing the
inner cannula. Includes practical session. -
Ventilator Awareness Training
This course will teach delegates the definition of ventilation. The
course will cover anatomy and physiology, the different types of
ventilation and the effects they have on the respiratory system and the
complications and how to troubleshoot.
