This NHS Travel Vaccines update training course is an Annual Immunisation Update course specific to travel vaccines available on the NHS. It includes our Annual Immunisation Update course developed in line with the ‘National Minimum Standards and Core Curriculum for Immunisation Training for Registered Healthcare Practitioners‘ – PHE.

Who is it suitable for?
This NHS Travel Vaccine update training training course is suitable for any experienced vaccinators who’s role will involve administering NHS travel vaccines. This could include immunisation nurses, practice nurses, pharmacists or any healthcare professional, or healthcare support worker administering vaccines.
What’s included?
First and foremost, this is this an interactive and engaging online course. Initially, it includes all of the modules recommended in the National Minimum Standards for Immunisation Training (PHE) document.
Core Modules
- Current issues in immunisation
- Recent epidemiology of vaccine preventable disease
- Any changes to vaccine recommendations or national policy
- Update on vaccine ordering, storage and administration
- Any changes to legislation relevant to vaccination
- Review of current practice, recent vaccine incidents and
identification of areas for improvement - Q&A session for problems encountered in practice

- Tetanus
- Typhoid
What’s not included?
Please note: This is an NHS Travel Vaccines update and does not cover Seasonal Influenza or Covid-19. Please purchase the relevant course packages or add-on courses if you would like these included.
Basic Life support and Anaphylaxis are also available in separate courses.
We also recommend completing a comprehensive Fundamentals of Travel Health course if you are going to be delivering an NHS travel health service. This is in line with Good Practice Guidance for Providing a Travel Health Service (RGPSG, 2020).
This is not a Foundations of Immunisation Course for those new to immunising.
Basic Life support and Anaphylaxis are also available in separate courses.

This is an immunisation update course. Please note the statement in the ‘National Minimum Standards and Core Curriculum for Immunisation Training for Registered Healthcare Practitioners.‘ That those new to immunisation should receive comprehensive foundation immunisation training.
