Delivery Method: eLearning Sepsis is a commonly encountered life threatening condition caused by infection within the body. If not treated quickly it can cause multiple organ failure and death. There are more than 120,000 cases every year in England alone. In many cases prompt recognition and action can avoid serious illness. This Erudition e Learning course will train staff to identify sepsis and describe what action to take.
On completion of this course, learners should know and understand the following:
- How to identify sepsis symptoms
- NEWS scores and NEWS2 charts
- Sepsis indicators and markers
- Action to take following identification
Sepsis is also known as septicaemia or blood poisoning.
