Sexual health training is aimed at those working with young people and adults. This could be nurses working within a healthcare environment, those in a family planning clinic or youth workers in a youth club for instance.
Sexual health training is important to raise awareness and help with the prevention and treatment of STDs. These courses will usually cover contraception, pregnancy, relationships and a range of Sexually Transmitted Diseases such as HIV, Hepatitis, Gonorrhoea and Chlamydia.
There are a range of organisations that provide information on STD’s such as FPA, Terrence Higgins Trust, Brook, Sexual Advice Association, Herpes Viruses Association and the British Association for Sexual Health. These training courses can be delivered face-to-face or through e-Learning to provide individuals and organisations with the knowledge to gain confidence in this important subject
